Base conversion refers to converting a number written in one place-value system of numeration into another place-value system with another base. For example, 1729 to 0x6C1 is a base conversion from decimal to hexadecimal.

OEIS Wiki base conversion templates and external links for online base conversion tools are given below.

Standard base notation assigns a set of mapped characters with member count equaling the base. For decimal (10), these are the digits 0-9. For hexadecimal (16), the set is (0-9, A-F). Standard notation uses base powers left of the radix point as 0,1,2... and base powers right of the radix point as -1,-2,-3.... Thus for decimal, the 3rd column left of the radix point is 10^2 or hundreds column. Similarly, the 3rd column right of the radix point is 10^-3 or thousandths column.
