I am Professor of Mathematics and Physics at the University of Arizona, and am a broad-spectrum mathematician and applied mathematician. I focus among other things on special functions and orthogonal polynomials, and on certain topics in algebraic geometry (modular forms) and in applied probability (the symbolic manipulation of probability distributions). Integer sequences arise frequently in each of the preceding areas.
